Technical Administrator

Job Profile:

  • To support the technical team by administering information systems and provide all other administration services for the technical team.
  • To ensure all vessels comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, with particular attention to the ISM/ISPS codes, flag and class requirements and all technical engineering related matters.
  • To ensure commitment to continuous improvement of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
  • Lead by example and promote the HSEQ message wherever possible both internally and externally.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance and demonstrate commitment to company documented policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
  • Ensure compliance and demonstrate commitment with company management systems.
  • Ensure compliance and demonstrate commitment to occupational health, safety and environmental excellence.
  • General administrative duties.
  • Control, monitor and maintain class and flag state survey and certificate requirements.
  • Perform reviews of records and documentation in accordance with SIMS requirements
  • To monitor and administer incoming deficiency notes including delegation to the correct department and follow through until completion.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Technical Library ensuring documents are up-to-date, labeled, and secure.
  • Handling, filing and maintenance of technical documentation, vessel specific procedures and communications and all other documentation (inspection, testing, operations logs, etc.).
  • Audit monitoring.
  • Serves as a back-up in supporting the Technical Administrator where necessary.
  • Assist the Technical Department in the production and management of documented procedures.
  • Any other duties as stipulated by management.
  • Any other reasonable duties as stipulated by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a shipping environment in a similar role.
  • Good general standard of education.
  • Proficient in English.  Greek would be considered an advantage.
  • Good understanding of flag and class state requirements.  ISM/MLC/ISPS.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
